Spam, or Unsolicited Commercial E-Mail (UCE) is an epidemic, and it will only become worse, at least in the short term. Through a combination of methods, FishNet can filter your e-mail for spam before it is delivered. While we can never eliminate all spam, we can reduce it from a flood to a trickle. We provide three different levels of screening to fit your environment; you choose the level that fits your needs. If at any time you want to change the level of filtering, it can be quickly changed to fit your needs.
Proactive virus scanning on your inbound e-mail can save significant effort and money to clean up an infection, as well as safeguarding your data from malicious deletion or even covert theft. We update the virus signatures once an hour to close the attack window of opportunity as much as possible.
Scanning is configured by changing the primary MX record of your domains to point to the FishNet scanning servers. If FishNet hosts your DNS service, we can quickly change the MX record to configure the scanning. If your DNS service is hosted elsewhere, you will need to inform them of the needed change; based on the desired spam filtering level, we will inform you how to change the MX record.
